Homemade Cashew "Milk"

I'm not vegan or vegetarian but it's safe to say I eat a plant-based diet. I LOVE cheese, enjoy a hamburger every now and then and my husband makes the best crispy chicken that I won't pass up.
I like to live by the 80/20 "ish" rule. I fuel my body with nutrient dense foods 80 "ish" percent of the time and indulge 20 "ish" percent of the time (you all know this consists of ice cream and chocolate and I also realize the "ish" sounds ridiculous here but it's true.)
We cook with dairy milk but for smoothies I like to use dairy free milk and prefer to make my own. It's super easy to do and, yes, you can totally buy one of those fancy nut milk makers if you're going to drink it plain, but this works well if you're blending it! You can adjust the consistency by adding more or less water to you preferred taste.
